What is Graston Technique®

Graston Technique® (GT) therapy is a unique form of soft tissue therapy which focuses on treating the pain and discomfort caused by tensions or scar tissue in muscles.

Therapists use six specially-designed instruments to detect and resolve problematic areas in muscles and tendons. Through focused work with Graston instruments, patients often find quick and long lasting relief from pain and an increased range of motion.

How is it different?

GT therapy is a form of instrument-assisted soft-tissue therapy that delivers a deep and more intense variation on manual therapy. Unlike general chiropractic therapy or massage, GT therapists use specially-designed instruments to apply a distinct form of massage.

By running the Graston instruments over the patient’s skin, the therapist is able to locate muscle damage that may be causing pain or restricting movements. These same tools are then used to break up the damaged tissue to restore mobility and function by using very specific, calculated massage techniques.
