What is Physiotherapy? Physiotherapy focuses on using movement to rehabilitate and strengthen the body in order to improve physical well-being following disease or injury. By uniting exercise, manual hands-on therapy and specially adapted tools, therapists can focus on highly targeted treatments that deliver long lasting results. How is it different? Physiotherapy can look quite different for each patient, and at our clinic every session is unique. We offer 30 minutes of one-on-one treatment time at each visit, which allows the physiotherapist to design and implement a specific treatment plan tailored to each individual patient’s needs. Some common elements of a physiotherapy treatment plan include exercise programs which improve flexibility and strengthen muscles, soft tissue massage, joint manipulation and specialist treatments including hydrotherapy and electrotherapy. Physiotherapy often also involves the recommendation of exercises that can be done regularly in the patient’s home, to improve the curative strength of the therapy. |
